Performing Arts

School Productions are an important part of the student excperience at Teddington. The Dance, Drama and Music departments continually seek opportunities for students to showcase their talents, in school, to parents and the wider community. All three departments contribute to our performing arts enrichment package and encourage students to be creative and imaginative whilst building their confidence and resilience.

Highlights of the school production calendar include:

Aladdin

In 2025, our school production was a portrayal of Aladdin. Aladdin is a magical adventure story set in the bustling city of Agrabah. It follows a kind but streetwise boy, Aladdin, who discovers a mysterious lamp containing a powerful genie who can grant wishes. With the help of the genie, Aladdin tries to win the heart of Princess Jasmine while facing the schemes of the villainous Jafar. Full of humour, music and excitement; the story celebrates courage, honesty and being true to yourself.

Little Shop of Horrors

2024's school production was 'Little Shop of Horrors'. Little Shop of Horrors is a horror comedy rock musical that takes place in a run-down flower shop on Skid Row. The story follows Seymour Krelborn, a meek and downtrodden floral assistant, who discovers a peculiar and carnivorous plant he names Audrey II. The plant becomes the shop's main attraction, bringing success to Seymour an the flower shop.

Footloose

In 2023 over 100 students and two casts performed the hit musical 'Footloose'. A city teenager moves to a small town where rock music and dancing have been banned, and his rebellious spirit shakes up the populace.

"Congratulations on a fabulous production! Footloose was joyful and fun. The sheer number of students performing was incredible, and there were many more behind the scenes in the orchestra, in charge of the lighting, sound, staging, props and choreography. It was very impressive to see such talent and teamwork. Thanks to the dedicated staff who pulled it together."

Bugsy Malone

The highlight of the 2022 school calendar was the performance of Bugsy Malone. Set in New York City, it is a gangster spoof, substituting machine guns that fire gobs of whipped cream instead of bullets. The production is based loosely on events in New York and Chicago during the prohibition era, specifically the exploits of real-life gangsters such as Al Capone and Bugs Moran.
