Choosing where to study after GCSEs is an important decision. At Teddington Sixth Form, students benefit from the independence of post-16 study alongside the structure, support and high expectations of a successful school Sixth Form. 

A highly successful Sixth Form 

Our most recent Ofsted inspection in April 2026 recognised the strength of our Sixth Form, with our post-16 provision judged at the Strong standard. 

Inspectors described Teddington as having established a “highly successful post-16 provision”, highlighting our ambitious curriculum, high-quality teaching and the way students develop as increasingly independent learners. 

Ofsted also recognised the positive experiences of students who join Teddington in Year 12, alongside the support students receive in preparing for university, apprenticeships and their future careers. 

Excellent results  

Our students achieve excellent academic outcomes. 

In 2026: 

30% of A-level grades were A-A* 
59% were A-B* 
81% were A-C* 

Fourteen students achieved A*-A grades across all of their chosen A-level subjects, while 76% of BTEC grades were awarded at Distinction-Distinction*. 

Ambitious destinations

We are proud not only of what our students achieve at Teddington, but also of where they go next. 

In 2026, 89% of Year 13 students progressed to university, including 30% to Russell Group universities. Other students progressed to apprenticeships and gap years, with every student leaving Teddington with a positive destination. 

Our Future Pathways programme provides personalised guidance for university, apprenticeships and employment, while our High Flyers programme offers additional support for students applying to Oxbridge and other highly competitive universities and courses. 

More than three qualifications

Our distinctive Three +1 programme ensures that Sixth Form students have opportunities to develop beyond their academic courses. 

Alongside their three A-level or vocational subjects, students take part in a dedicated enrichment opportunity. These experiences help students develop their confidence, leadership, communication and wider skills, ensuring they are well prepared for their next steps. 

A growing Sixth Form

This is an exciting time to join Teddington. 

As our Sixth Form continues to grow, we are investing significantly in our dedicated Sixth Form facilities. Our Sixth Form Centre already provides specialist teaching spaces, science laboratories, ICT facilities, independent study areas and a communal café. 

The expansion of our Sixth Form building will provide further teaching, independent study and student support spaces, creating an even stronger environment for our growing Sixth Form community. 

Students also benefit from the wider facilities across Teddington School, including our theatre, art rooms, music suites and extensive sports facilities.
